Project Description

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR) launched a rehabilitation program with the goal of re-opening the PNR’s Bicol Express service. Below are some of PNR’s capital improvement projects:

  • Track Rehabilitation from Tutuban to Los Baños Laguna
  • Double Tracking from Sucat to Alabang
  • Track Ballasting for Hondagua Division
  • Railway Bridges Repair and Rehabilitation
  • Station Development and Station Yard Fencing
  • Reconstruction/Renovation of Station Buildings including platform and passenger shelter improvements
  • Repair of Nine (9) Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs)
  • Rehabilitation of Three (3) Locomotives

The DCCD-PRIMEX-ALAI-EDCOP-SYSTRA Joint Venture bagged this 18-month project that ended in February 2017, for which SYSTRA was the internal technical lead partner.
